Swedish Griffon Club

In partnership with my late mother I began showing Griffons in the mid
1970’s
Beginning with rather poor quality at the time the breed was rather rare
and unknown in Australia.
One of my favourite memories is when a judge said “I will look at my
judging book for a minute or two and if you can get the prick ear down
enough I will give you the ribbon”
Some years later we were breeding many champions including several
Best in show winners at Specialty and all breed level. Over time the
breed became quite popular in Australia and today the top winning dogs
are always contenders for group awards and even BIS ,
Breeding under the kennel name “beagriff” we bred many champions at
home and abroad .Dogs we either owned or bred have won the Specialty
show in Australia no less than 7 times.
Our most well know dog was Aust/NZ Ch Beagriff Bosonova who won
many BIS awards and also won the Toy group at the Sydney and
Melbourne Royal show in the same year.
Beagriff bloodlines are behind many top winning dogs today not only in
Australia but also in the UK and Europe. I began judging in the mid
1980’s and today judge almost 100 breeds in over 30 countries under
FCI my licence.
I moved to the UK in 2003 and have awarded CC’s in the UK 4 times
including the Northern Club show. I have also judged specialty shows in
New Zealand ,Czech republic THE Roving specialty in the USA and
twice in Finland. I have also judged Griffon Bruxellios at the World show
in Budapest.
Although not breeding anymore I am still very much involved with the
breed. I have been on the GBBA committee in the UK for many years
and made up a Champion in the UK winning two club Specialty’s along
the way. I am delighted to judge the Swedish club show and look forward
to meeting the dogs.
